Last Saturday I had my final soccer game and referee gigs for the year. Earned some money, knocked some guys around at my game, ok fine. I can live with one of my days being supremely busy.
Monday I had a ride in the morning. Luckily that was unusually short, so the rest of the day I got to orchestrate a meeting with my girlfried, and then wait for Tuesday to roll around.
Tuesday was actually rather fun, hanging out with Brooke (hey babe
Wednesday was where my week started getting busy. I went on a 45 ish mile ride out to Chipolte in Folsom, which although necessary, didn't feel the greatest, since I haven't been seriously riding since soccer season kicked off 11 weeks ago.
Thursday was of course Thanksgiving, so all day was spent either preparing for dinner, hanging out with family I rarely see, or eating disgusting amounts of food. Since Thanksgiving was at my grandparents this year I was unable to enjoy all the food in my normal, pantsless Thanksgiving outfit, and I can't help but feel like I missed out on at least one more serving of delicious turkey (yes Kaitlyn and Ali, I am glaring at you, you crazy turkey haters...). All in all though the day was enjoyable, if not a little boring.
Friday was a joy... Up at 7:30 to prepare for a 50 mile ride on some of the most desolate and rural roads in our state (all of which were wet as well) on one of the coldest days of the month. Working my way through the predictable food hangover I arrived at my coaches house and realized that my water bottles were sitting at home on the dryer. Lovely. To top all of it off, my coach has recently started enforcing a new rule that bans listening to iPods when we ride on the road, so I got to go through music withdrawls as well. After that journey through misery and general hatred directed at anything that moved (including myself), I got to go hang out with a buddy of mine and spend the night at his place.
Saturday started bad and stayed about the same. Me and the buddy whose house I stayed at had a ride up at Hidden Falls (its in auburn somewhere) that started at 8:45, so we had to be up by 7 in order to leave by 7:50. I wasn't aware of several muscles in my body until that morning, when they very painfully informed me of their presence. The ride went well, something like 15 miles on a really fast up and down moutain bike trail. Afterwards, when I got back home, I had to go back to my grandparents to see my uncle's estranged daughter who came up from Lancaster with her 4 year old so that my dying grandfather can see his great grand daughter for the first, and likely last, time. The entire meeting was rather awkward, and almost surreal, though that could of been the exhausten sinking in, I'm not really sure.
Today I've been busy hanging Christmas lights with my dad, but overall its been quiet and enjoyable, since I haven't really had to do much.
As you all have probably noticed I've still found time to pen a few (nearly 20 I think) poems over the course of the break as well. Sorry for filling up your new deviations queue, but its not often that I a.) have so many ideas readily available or b.) have enough time to fully realize the ideas I do have, so I took full advantages of both of those. I hope everyone elses Thanksgiving/break was better than my own, but if you'll please excuse me I shoureally should finish the homework I've been careful to avoid for the past 10 days.
P.S.
Next week I'm equally busy, going back to school, working the school dance show as a stage hand, and going through required workouts when I'm not working the stage, so I'll be swanped and probably won't be on here as much, don't hate me if I don't relply to everything immediately.
